too smart for his own good

He's starting to put the pieces together, but not quite. I figure we have a few more months before he is on to us. 

N: Daddy, when did you learn about putting maple syrup on waffles

J: I knew about it when I was a kid

N: But how come when I was little we never had maple syrup on waffles

J Unsaid: Actually, we did, mommy and I would secretly put it on our waffles when you were not looking.

J:  Well, I guess I forgot how good it was. 

N: Oh, ok
