too smart for his own good

He's starting to put the pieces together, but not quite. I figure we have a few more months before he is on to us.

N: Daddy, when did you learn about putting maple syrup on waffles
J: I knew about it when I was a kid
N: But how come when I was little we never had maple syrup on waffles
J Unsaid: Actually, we did, mommy and I would secretly put it on our waffles when you were not looking.
J:  Well, I guess I forgot how good it was.
N: Oh, ok

Aviva and her body, and what her body needs

Aviva's not taking a nap at school anymore. When she was taking naps, she did not want to sleep at night and was often up talking to herself and playing in her bed for an hour after Noah fell asleep. So "we're seeing what her body needs," and trying out no naps. We said it this way because we didn't want her to decide against it, and it was a trial, and she likes this wording a lot. She's been telling strangers that we're seeing what her body needs, and she's not napping at school.

She has been singing in the car, loudly. We're listening to a CD we got from PJ Library and her favorite songs are "Hinei Ma Tov," (which she shouts as she sings) and "Lilah Tov."

The way she says the past tense of "say" is "say-ed," which is very similar to "said." Past tense of "do" is "do-ed" and past tense of "go" is "go-ed".

physics

Aviva learned a little about physics today. She was curious what would happen if she jumped from the coffee table to the rug while kneeling. She discovered that from this position you gain very little upward momentum, yet gravity remains strong as ever. She also learned that feet are better to land on than faces.
