Update

It is now October. In many ways, the kids are a mess.

  • Noah is now going to school and not staying out on the porch, but there's a long and constant negotiation of details
  • One lightly touches the other, and that causes a huge dramatic display of excruciating pain
  • 5th grade music camp is happening without noah, and without any sign of regret or interest
  • Getting to school in the morning requires an entire set of rewards and punishments regarding the intricacies of putting on shoes, packing backpacks, carrying things to school
  • Brushing teeth happens sometimes once and sometimes twice a day, and requires supervision while Noah "forgets" and "keeps forgetting" what he's doing
  • Dessert
  • Kids are supposed to read at least 30 minutes/day at home,
  • Teachers having diff rules and requirements (audio books count?) (he's doing great/she's doing great) (sitting on the couch and who goes over the line)
kids are not a mess in these ways:
  • She's getting taller, more mature, perhaps as result of daily growth hormone shots
  • He's making cool things with cardboard and gravitrax
  • He likes swimming (and climbing which is now over)

It is now mid-November. Things are better, maybe.

  • Aviva is asking us to rate everything on a scale. On a scale of 1-10, how much do you like my picture? What about if it's a scale of 1-6 and 6 means you love it? What if it's a scale of 1-100? How surprised are you on a scale of 1-10 where 10 is totally surprised?
  • She also has been coloring things and arranging miniature scenes, and she wants them to be realistical.
  • She didn't want her hair to have bangs anymore so she cut them off
  • Noah is mostly going to school but last week he refused Friday and Monday. We're researching new potential schools for him.
  • Noah's doing swim lessons/practice 3 or 4 times a week. He's also doing a Dungeons and Dragons role play class, which he likes a lot. And boy scouts. And Noah and Yona go climbing at the gym sometimes.
  • We're going to Vietnam for the month of December!
