He said and she said
Mommy!!!!! He hit me back!!!!!
I didn't lick you. I just stuck my tongue out (when we were snuggling and our faces were close) and you moved.
It's not fair! Aviva's not letting herself have fun!
(I laughed at something Aviva said, and then) You don't have to laugh. It's just pretend.

foot
Aviva hit her foot on something. She had a kids scissors in hand. I was comforting her and offered to cut it off and add a new one on in its place. She said yes happily. I took the scissors and as I approached her foot she got a worried look and said, "just pretend?"

No picnics for Noah
Noah doesn't totally like picnics, he says, because he always gets a piece (one piece) of sand in his mouth. This happens at every picnic he goes to, he says. Every single time!

'Viv and her kitty
Aviva is in a rush, and shortens words.
School is cool.
Containters are tainers.
Computers are puters.
Smile is mile.
Snake is nake.
Stove is tove.
Stove is tove.
She loves to be the caretaking, nurturing mother. She's constantly telling her doll/pig/stuffed kitty, "It's okay, little kitty. It's all okay. You're just fine." (They're all "kitty" -- she calls the pig "kitty" just like everything else.) She also likes to put them to bed and wake them up, "time to go to sleep, little kitty! now wakey wakey, little kitty, it's time to wake up!"
She also doesn't totally understand the concepts of today/tomorrow/yesterday -- she often asks, "is it today now?" And when I mention something that will happen tomorrow, she'll ask if it's today... It is indeed a tricky concept. There's a lullaby we've been listening to in the car called "Lilah tov lullaby" and some of the words are, "when today is yesterday, so tomorrow will be."

Kitty
10:57 pm, Aviva wakes briefly, says "Meow" and goes back to sleep.
Now it's another day, or night, really. I put Aviva to bed a half hour ago but she's still talking to herself in her bed. She's singing right now, "my bootie, my bootie, i shake my bootie."
